The Postgraduate Program (PPs) at ISI Yogyakarta consistently offers opportunities to develop academic abilities in creative practice and discourse, as well as innovation in the field of art studies. The Master's (S2) and Doctoral (S3) programs at PPs ISI Yogyakarta are oriented towards interdisciplinary art creation, study, performance, and governance. The entrance selection for the ISI Yogyakarta Postgraduate program for the 2026/2027 academic year will be conducted through portfolio document assessment, scholastic aptitude tests, and interviews.

Special Regular Path
For the first time this year, the 2026 ISI Yogyakarta Postgraduate Admissions is offering a MASTER'S PROGRAM IN ART GOVERNANCE (SPECIAL REGULAR CLASS).
For those who are pursuing a career, but still want to continue their master's education while working, you can.... All you have to do is enroll in this professional class. The professional class program has advantages:
- The lecture learning method is hybrid (preferably on line), afternoon to evening, and flexible.
- Taught by prominent lecturers and practitioners.
Provides convenience for those who have worked to get a master's education officially. - Receive intensive academic training.
The place of study is not only on the ISI Yogyakarta campus, but also involves independent campus partners in various government and private agencies / institutions throughout Indonesia. - The final project can be a capstone project in addition to research that is applicable to problem solving.

SUBJECT MATTER
1. Art Study Program Doctoral Program
The Doctoral Program in Art combines advanced art theory, research, and practice. Students are taught to develop original research projects that contribute to the development of knowledge in the field of art, both creation and assessment practices. Courses offered include: Art Theory and Aesthetics, Artistic Research Methodology, and Seminar.
2. Art Study Program Master's Program
The Master of Arts Program provides a deeper understanding of art theory, history, and art practice. It provides practice in developing analytical and creative skills, both in the creation and study of art. Courses offered include: Aesthetics, Art History, Artistic Research Methodology, Art and Neuroscience, Art and Religiosity, and Art Criticism.
3. Art Management Study Program Master's Program
The Master of Arts Governance Study Program is designed to develop skills and knowledge in managing arts and culture, whether in the context of arts organizations, galleries, museums, or arts events. The course materials in this program combine management theory, art, and cultural policy. Courses offered include: Aesthetics, Marketing, Museology, Curatorial, Exhibition/Performance Management, and Cultural Tourism.
STUDY PERIOD AND CREDITS
- Master's program: minimum 40 credits, maximum 8 semesters.
- Doctoral Program: Minimum 40 credits, maximum 12 semesters.
ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS

- S1 diploma (Has a S1 / S2 diploma in the field of art or other fields of study, provided that the applicant has experience creating works of art and / or studying or performing the field of art that will be followed)
- Transcript of S1 / S2 academic grades (has academic ability and works of art, and is considered capable of pursuing a master's education with a minimum GPA of 2.75 or a doctorate with a minimum GPA of 3.00)
- TOEFL ITP/IELTS English proficiency certificate for masters with a minimum score of 450 and doctoral with a minimum score of 500.
- Certificate of academic ability (TPA/TKDA) for master at least score 450 and doctoral at least score 500 see in: http://www.paps.ugm.ac.id or http://upap.psikologi.ugm.ac.id/paps/jadwal/ (Yogyakarta); http://psikologi.unair.ac.id/tkda (Surabaya); http://plt.unpad.ac.id (Bandung); http://koperasi.bappenas.go.id/tpa (Jakarta) and other credible institutions
- Have recommendations that can be contacted via WA or email (template recommendation letter provided by the committee).
- A letter of permission/assignment to continue the study from the institution where you work.
- A letter of guarantee for study funding from the institution (scholarship) or applicant (independent) equipped with a seal.
- Portfolio or history of artistic and scientific activities (exhibitions, performances, seminars, workshops, etc.), including artworks that have been produced for applicants interested in art creation and performance, published scientific works for applicants interested in art studies, or arts management for the Master of Arts Management Study Program.
- A draft proposal for research/creation/performance/art management.
- Setelah melakukan booking pendaftaran, silahkan membayar biaya pendaftaran dengan menggunakan Kode Booking yang sekaligus berfungsi sebagai nomor Virtual Account (VA) melalui bank Mandiri dengan menambahkan kode biller 87817 di depan Kode Booking yang diperoleh. Biaya pembayaran sebesar Rp. 350.000,00 bagi pelamar program magister dan Rp. 500.000,00 bagi pelamar program doktor.
- For foreign national applicants, in addition to the requirements of points 1 and 2 above, are required to submit a special permit and photocopy of diploma along with a letter of endorsement of S1 / S2 diploma equivalency from the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate General in the applicant's home country and master the Indonesian language.
